I have the 5035hst and I don't notice power loss while doing loader work unless I have my rpms too low or im in high range going up a grade while adjusting loader position.
Questions for 5035 Owners?

Maybe I used the wrong description. I did not put the tractor or loader under load when I drove it, I only noticed that when moving forward or backward and using the loader to lift up, down, or side to side I could tell that the pump was working a little extra. Im sure there probably is no "power loss" but I think that I just like the gear tractors feel.

In my experience HST does everything easier than gear, especially for novice operator, except perhaps heavy plowing.

There probably actually is a little power loss. Mine does the same. Make sure RPMs are at max to minimize it. When in High range & top speed (~16 mph), if I touch the loader (up or down) there is a little slow down in tractor speed. My dad's gear Mahindra 4110 does not do that. Not a big deal to me, but it is kinda nice on his to have loader usage not affect your ground speed at all. I feel like that's the very minor trade-off needed to have Kubota's Grand L HST+. Can't recall - Did you look at Grand L's yet?

the PST is a compromise between gear and HST. I chose the PST, and really like it. The 5035 is perfect for me and my place. It handles like a sports car, compared to some of the "old" style full size tractors. Mine is now 1 year old with no problems; love it!:thumbsup:
