I blew a hose on my Woods backhoe the other day. I had a new line made up at a local hardware store. I 'd like to have a couple various hoses on hand for when it happens again, and it WILL happen again.

Anyway, My hoses are all 3/8 diameter, with female JICF (swivel) connectors on both ends. The thing is, online hydraulic suppliers size these connectors by "6 JICF" or "8 JICF" What does that mean? And how do I know which one I have?
Thanks

By the way, from what I remember, the fittings on my hoses were 11/16 wrench size.

Take a look at this chart at the DHH site, it should help you. Basically each even number is 1/8", so -4 equals 1/4".

With hoses and fittings, the -# is the size in sixteenths of an inch. Your -6 is 6/16" or 3/8".
