Question on loader problems for a 7360ss

I just purchased a 7360ss from an estate sale. 130 hours, and only used with a 5' bush hog.

I asked the local cub dealer about a loader and potential problems with the transmission flanges breaking on the 72xx series that I read about on this forum. He said it was due to aftermarket loaders and the users overloading the loaders or from misuse.

Can anyone tell me about any issues with loaders on the 7360ss and what brand of loader and possible model number I should look at for this tractor? I'll be using the loader to clean up brush, pull trees out of the woods and move dirt and gravel around. possibly pushing a pulling an occasional stump.

I also noticed that the kubota looks to have a real substantial mounting point in front of the operators feet for the woods loader. Is this a weak point on these tractors?

I may have some additional questions.

I believe that the dealer I spoke to recommended a Westendorf 160 loader for my tractor.

The loader that is on those machines (if a Cub Cadet loader) is made by Woods and I am not a fan of it at all. I would highly recommend a BushHog loader...the Woods loader is real bulky and obstructs your view. There are recall updates for the Woods loader that will fix its problems.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know of any structural issues that I need to be aware of when putting the woods or bush hog loader on the 7360ss ? I read about flanges on the transmission breaking on the 72xx series.

Do you have a model number of a bush hog loader that would work well on the cub 7360ss ?

I have a 7360 with the Cub (made by Woods) loader which I use heavily. I do many of the same chores that you are planning to do. I have had zero problems! It is a rugged loader. I have had no trouble with loosening hardware or mounting flanges. I work it hard and my machine has been trouble free. I would suggest that you look at the Woods loader and compare it to Westendorf.

Rozett and Gamble have answered so I may be off base. Rozett has the tractor and Gamble sells/works them so they know the tractor better than I. I thought the majority of the problems with cracking flanges, etc was on the older 7000 series, (7019, 723X, 727X) and not the 7360 which I thought was a somewhat larger tractor than the 7000 series. I have read that the cracking was caused by improper loader or back hoe work as well, maybe both. As I have listened to Rozett and others it sounds like a tractor I wouldn’t mind stepping up to ‘if’ it was still made and ‘if’ I ever replaced my 7234. That said, I have a Bush Hog loader on my 7234 installed by the dealer at the time of delivery. It was several hundred dollars cheaper than the CC/Woods loader but it is not a quick detach loader either if that is one of your requirements. I have only taken my BH loader off once in the 8-9 years since I have owned my tractor. It is a very rugged loader that had better specs than the CC loader but the finish was not as nice. I think if you read back on the posts with the cracking problem it was with the smaller 7000 series and many of those problems seem to be taken care of by careful maintenance and loctite. I only have 200+ hours on my tractor but I have used it fairly hard and I have never had a problem with the bolts. Knock on wood!!

It also uses a different loader than the others. This is reenforced by the fact that Mahindra picked up the Mitsubishi line that Cub used to sell as the 7000 series, except for the 7360.

My loader is the Cub Model 485 loader. I do not know the exact Woods model number, but I assume it is the 1012 model from Woods. IF you need some of the specs, let me know and I can look them up tonight when I'm home.

I have never read any problems with the trans flanges on the 7360, just the 72xx series and I was hoping that that did not carry over to the 7360ss. I really glad I found this forum and I appreciate the responses. Looks like I'll be looking at the woods and the westnedorf loader tomorrow to compare the two side by side. I compared the model 160 westendorf and 1012 woods side by side today and I have to say there is no comparison. The Woods wins hands down for thickenss of material and craftsmanship. Woods it is!

The bush hog is not available in a quick detach. I think I want that option.
