I just purchased two 250 pound calves at an auction. One was blind in one eye (sold cheap) but other wise in great shape. I have seen cows blind in one eye before, but the eye has a line of red dots across the eye and the eye is larger than the other. Is this normal, birth defect or maybe an accident?

The red dots are probably blood vessals that have burst because of the internal pressure from the eye swelling or the initial trama to the eye. I'd have the vet come check him out.. could avoid later complications or a bad infection.. plus he could treat the swelling.. make the calf feel better.
