Prior to the incredible amount of rain we have been getting for the last 4 months I was very pleased with the performance of my R4's. The pasture is now mostly soured mud and the R4's struggle at times.. I bet buying a second set of wheels and tires (R1's) is going to be too expensive.

How well do chains work in the mud? about what should I expect to pay for them and how hard are they to put on? Where is the best place to purchase them? Thanks for any help. Chuck.

Tirechain.com is a good place to buy on the Internet, they are located in Pa so you will have some shipping charges to Texas. I only have for the front tires and for my tractor they are not difficult to install. If you do a search for tire chains you will find some innovative ways that people use to put on their chains. Can't help you with the mud issue, mine are only on in the winter and used for snow. I have R1's on the rear and they do fairly well without chains.
