Put My Chains on Yesterday - The Easy Way

/ Put My Chains on Yesterday - The Easy Way #31
I have been using rear tire chains for several years on my BX25D. I bought an extra set of used front and rear wheels recently. I am considering putting the tire chains on the spare set of wheels, then just changing the wheels in the Fall and Spring. This will eliminate the need to crawl under the tractor to hook up the inside of the chains. I think it will be faster to just change the tires too.

I have been doing this for a couple of years, and it sure beats putting chains on every fall. The wheel swap is quicker and easier, especially on the BX series because of the small tires.

Thanks for verifying the idea 07wingnut. I put the chains on the extra tires in about ten minutes yesterday. Nice to do while standing up and using a workmate as a working surface. Swapped the tires out this morning. Only casualty was the half inch impact gun socket adapter. Snapped it in two trying to get the tires off. What are you running to clear snow in BC? I am using the BX2755HD front blower. Very happy with it so far.
You are definitely using smaller tires then I'm used to if you are swapping tires instead of mounting chains. I used to do that for pickups but not on tractors.
Besides which I ordered a couple of new rear tires the other at $1250+ each.
