I also have a JDX495, I do have the loader "at the ready", so if I do get too much snow around, with nowhere to put it,
1* I can switch out the blade and mount the loader pretty quickley.
2*The best scenario I think, is to have both front blade & loader. The blade is faster, but can't move the "BIG" piles that easily.

1*I just switch tractor keys on these .
It don't get any quicker or easier than that!
2*Especally when you can leave the blade on one tractor and the loader on another tractor like I do.

I guess I took a different tact than most. I went with a rear blade so I could leave the FEL on for when the snow is too deep or heavy to blade. Can angle blade, pull snow with it or push. Disadvantage I guess is you're looking behind you, but (having only one tractor) I didn't want a front blade that I'd have to swap back and forth with the FEL when the snow gets too deep. Can do the first pass down the middle with the FEL, dump it, then pull/push residual in repeated passes with the blade....if gets too deep, hit it with the FEL.

So, I guess part of the answer, as some have said, can depend upon the quantity and type of snow you get. Plus, how clean you need to get it. I've got a gravel drive and have to keep the implement just above it to avoid removing the material. Plus, we get warm sun to melt whats left, so it works good here.

Arthur Randall Corp seems to have a 60" blade comparable to the 54". I plan to contact them tomorrow to see if it will work on the 2320. its taller, has some better features, etc, based on the you tube video. Anyone ever work with them? What did you find, if so?

Land Pride has skid shoes for your blade. Could be something to help with gravel drive. I have them but set them very low just to prevent blade catching on concrete edges. I can use the 3PH top link to adjust the gap, down to zero if I want the blade directly on the surface.

I too prefer a front blade over a rear blade and also over the bucket on the FEL.

A bit larger than what you likely should shoot for, but I've a 7' Western plow fabbed in place of the FEL and use the FEL control to operate the lift and angling of the plow. I can quickly switch back to the FEL if bucketing snow is necessary but in the 12 years using this plow for winters here in WI, there never has been a need to do that. Pushing snow back with the plow blade straight works just fine. (But that didn't keep me from building the wing plow to also move the snow berm back some more :D )
