Push mower tipped over ... now won't start???

Hi!

I put my Poulon push mower on it's side to remove the blade for sharpening. Got it back together and it won't start. That was 3 days ago.

I pull the rope and the engine fires up and then dies. I thought maybe it was flooded, but it's been 3 days. The spark plug was dry when I removed it. Plenty of gas in the tank.

The engine *does* fire. It's like it's getting gas for a brief moment and then being starved out. There is no gasoline odor.

Any ideas?

Have you check flow from the tank?

Had a stubborn similar and found the vent blocked... ran fine with.cap off for testing.

It's Poulan btw and possibly the float is stuck.

Depending on which way you tipped it, is the air filter saturated with engine oil?

Tip it the opposite way na I'd guess tipping it stirred up some crap that got in the carb. Will it stay running if you choke it or partially choke it?

pull the air filter, make sure its not covered in oil, it happens sometimes depending what side you tip them

Or there was some crud in the bottom of the gas tank that has now found a way to stop up the gas flow.

I’d guess the air filter is soaked with oil.
