As always thanks in advance, I mean it, you folks sure change thoughts and encourage without making somebody, namely me feel stupid. Just wanted you to know, your thoughts are always appreciated.
I decided on the DK45s with backhoe and a few minor upgrades. Went to 3 dealers and spoke on the phone with 3 others and I decided on this 1 dealer, a little farther than I wanted to go... over 70 miles away but his service so far has been great and the price is just a tad over the lowest price given so i'm gonna go with him. But heres my dilemma:
My concerns are with servicing the tractor, I'm having it brought to me and I dont have the truck and trailer to bring it anywhere! I know, I know, I "shouldn't have any problems to worry about" and I do plan on servicing what this home mechanic can, but i'm still a little uhhh, uneducated as to how this works. I'll give a scenario.
Lets say I go out to the barn, and she just doesn't start. I go through all the checks and such, and sure enough, theres just some problem that needs a pro, or a tech, or something diagnostic is wrong and it just wont... whatever.
What to do, I mean what can I expect done for me in my "temper moment"? What kind of service form this dealer or any other dealer can I count on? Pay them to tow it to them? They plug it in ...yada,yada, 3 weeks later they tell me i'm all set and they'll bring it home for another tow charge? Come on! I'm not about to leave myself or my wallet that open without some sort of Manufacturers Promise or maybe even a Dealer PROMISE FOR THAT MATTER.
Am I missing something here? I know it sounds trivial but anything mass produced is bound to put out a few duds once in a while. I dont care what ISO or whatever garbage they throw at us, it happens daily. Sorry to ramble, but 6 yrs is a lot of payments to make to not have a PRISTINE machine in the barn ya know! Thanks again crew Tom
