If I get the tractor upgrade I am contemplating, I'll probably address the problem by using one of these on the FEL:
Intimidator | Tree & Post Puller | Danuser
Expensive, but it seems to do all for a one man operation, never getting off the tractor seat. Also, everything you pull is already in the jaws, so it's very easy to move each bush/sapling to a pile for later pickup by a grapple.
