Pulling Bushes with a FEL

I popped this Rhododendron out of the ground with my 3 pph last year along with one other and two juniper type bushes. I did loosen it up first using my toothbar.

well use the Fell to drop a load of dirt in the pickup and then 4 weel low will do the trick

If you have a decent sized tractor use it. I work with a guy that used his Ford Excursion to pull some old overgrown shrubs out for a friend. He smoked the tranny. When he asked the friend for help paying for the tranny the friendship went south.

Tractors are built for this kind of work. My 39 horse L3710 has more traction and pulling power than a 1 ton 4wd dump. That truck may out pull me if it's loaded and on dry pavement, but off the road it's no contest. I've pulled it loaded out of the mud and pulled loaded equipment trailers it couldn't move.

I had 4 6' bushes infront of the house. Backed up the Ford Ranger with a chain around the foot of the bush and took of in 4WD - popped them right out. Seems easier if done on dry ground, though

I have heard some old timers also suggest watering the ground real good and the bush or tree will pull out much easier.
