Pulled the Trigger on the RTV 500

If you're going to leave the oil in to the 50 hour mark because you're thinking it's break-in oil why don't you at least change the oil filter that way you're getting at least the metal out of there.... just thinking.. just trying to help

Thanks! Im debating on if I should change the oil soon since I intend to plow with it, or if I will be OK if the temps dip a little below zero and I give it plenty of time to warm up first... My thought would be to keep the first fill until the 50 hour change just to let things wear in. (Not sure if Kubota uses a high moly oil or anything like that for their factory oil) Rotella has treated me well, is readily available, and a few times a year has a rebate going with it. I know its also not much oil in the crank case, so I might just bite the bullet and go with the stuff from the dealer

No tractor?

I personally would not carry heavy loads in the bed, though many do. Center of gravity would be too high in my estimation, with the potential for a rollover.

I suggest pulling a trailer. The eight year old, single axle, dumping MUTS I have is the berries.

Polar trailers are high value but do not dump 100%. Polar trailers are sold by Lowe's and Home Depot on their web sites. PHOTO

Used to have a number of vintage Farmalls, but I spent more time tinkering than using. Looked into a CUT with a loader, or a Ferguson 135 with the Perkins, but couldnt make it happen at a decent price. So for now, just the RTV. Ill wait until I have a good storage shed and disposable income before I get to tractor level. Or find a deal for a few hundred bucks... :)

I appreciate the thought! No offense taken. My thinking was that the filter will get more efficient as it loads up with the various metal bits from break in, so that it would be better to leave that on for the full 50 hours (unless I thought it was so plugged it was starting to bypass) Might be overthinking it for something with only 1.5 quarts of capacity, but I certainly want this to last for years to come.
