I have a YMG2000D it has a three speed selector for the PTO does anyone happen to know what speeds 1,2,3 are?

Thanks

The bottom lever position on PTO is 540. The middle is 1000 I think. Top I don't know. These are at around 2400 rpm. I don't have anything that I use that takes other than the 540. I am sure someone can come up with the other speed, if not I will be useing the tractor thursday and friday and will look at speed then. Hope this helps. big dan

A lot of the Yanmars are set up with pto speeds of 540, 1000, and engine speed.

Some of the newer models have 4 speed pto's.

Looking in my manual it shows for all the models listed, that pto speed is @ 2200 rpm.

My 2020 has 4 speed PTO. I use it on 2 for the 2nd pass on tiller to pulverize the dirt.

Same here. Love the way the higher speed along with tine design leave the garden plot worked up.

Here are a couple recent pics, the second is after 2nd pass.

Ok, now I am confused - I have a 2310D w/ 4 speed PTO. Sitting in the seat, the labelling has #1 up and to the right, but it sounds like down and to the left is a slower speed. Can anyone tell me if I am deaf or hopefully the labels are backwards. Speeds at various levels would be appreciated.

On my model, #1 pto right and up. #2 is right and down.

According to my manual:
#1 = 540@2200
#2 = 1000@2200
#3 = engine speed
#4 = 2500@2200

On mine (YM2220D) #1 is left and up. Think #2 is left and down, but I've never used anything but #1 so I'm not sure enough about #3 and #4 to say which is up and which is down. PTO speeds are like Mickey said except my engine speed may be a little higher.

Mickey, the FX24D should be like this.

#1 574
#2 699
#3 958
#4 1293

Any reason why my manual should report differently? It's not a great manual by any stretch but why so far off for something so straight foreward?

Don't know, but 2500 is a lot of RPM's

Mickey, doesn't your FX-24 have a PTO speed indicator on the tach? Mine shows engine speed on top and the four PTO speeds on bottom. Neat feature!

Well, with the numbers being thrown around, I went and checked my manual, "Yanmar Diesel Tractor Operation Manual, Yanmar '20 Series", MC#YM20-A, Murray Publishing, and it pretty much echos Micky's numbers:

"4 Speed, trans. driven 540 @ 2200, 1000 @ 2200, Engine Speed (appx), Slightly Overdrive".

I assume the numbers are, respectively, for #1, #2, #3, and #4.

Danny,
I'm not doubting your info at all but I'm curious where you got those speeds? When we were doing research for those manuals we found a Japanese Yanmar publication that had the other speeds listed. I guess the original book could have had a misprint- we found several conflicts when researching & this could be just another one.
