Mowing PTO Slip Clutch Question

/ PTO Slip Clutch Question #21
I don't use any shield, never have, but then I'm smart enough to stay out of harm's way. I've farmed for decades and still have all my parts (and hair thought it's getting sparse).

Need....maybe. required, not really if you have some wits about you.
Shield keeps it from getting wet in the rain.

Shield keeps it from getting wet in the rain.
So does keeping it sheltered, the shield is pointless anyway you shouldn't ever be around it when the pto is spinning anyway.

/ PTO Slip Clutch Question #23
Does anyone have a non-adjustable slip clutch like the King Kutter II tiller has on it. Cant find a photo of it to post right now. There are no external springs viewable on it. Not sure how it works but it does slip when a rock hangs up. I talked to the dealer when I bought it and he said there is no adjustment to it and it shouldn't be touched.

My BIL purchased a used tractor that came with a light duty Landpride BH
and it came with a non-adjustable slip clutch and it works fine. This after
setting for about 14 years.

If using no shields is your personal preference that is up to you but why on earth would you tell someone they don't need something that protects someone from injury or death that costs $5.00? Please elaborate on the reasons not to have a safety shield in place. And please don't say because you shouldn't be near it or I haven't used one for decades.

/ PTO Slip Clutch Question #26
Thats an easy answer... I watch what I do all the time. Candidly, I never knew any shield was available. never seen one. I guess you could install shields and safety devices to the point of no liability, but I don't see the point in my personal use, so I don't and won't. Somehow, I think 5 bucks is way too cheap. You cannot get squat for 5 bucks today...

Whatever blows your dress up I guess.

So your explanation for telling someone they don't need a safety shield is because "I watch what I do all the time". I could have guessed.

I don't understand the shield anyway if your standing next to a rotating piece of PTO equipment the slip clutch is the least of your worries.
