Just bought an older PTO Seeder for $50 to spread some grass seed and eventually fertilizer. Worth the risk due to the low price I guess. I only plan to use it once a season on about 4-5 acres and didn't want to buy a hand crank or walk behind spreader.

Lots of rust and not really sure how the PTO attachment stays secured. It looks like this is a manual tighten down on the PTO shaft with a set screw.

Can anybody give me advice from the pics below?

It looks to me like it's a standard push button style. You push in that pin as you slide it on. Once it reaches the notch on your tractors pto shaft it should lock on.

^^^ Easy to say how it should go on, but that pin looks like it could be rusted to heck and back!! If it is froze up, soak it really good in some penetrating fluid and tap lightly with a small hammer to see if it will free up.

I am no expert but it Looks standard push button to me. I found a old finishing mower on the property I bought a couple of years ago. The pto connection had actually been buried in the dirt for years . It looked worse than the connection you have. After, lots of soaking, WD40 and physically removing the dirt the connection worked fine.
Hard to go wrong with a 50 buck investment !

Yup, standard pto thumb button. Soak it and whack it, looks like it will limber up for you.
