PTO Quick Attach?

Does your PTO extender run true? Some of them do not.
Not perfectly. But that’s why God made U-joints. Sure a little more wear but since I was going to have to buy a new shaft anyway (too short), plus I can hook up now in a couple of minutes vs 15-20 and back pains after. Well worth it if I wear my u joints a little sooner…

I installed Pat's quick attachment. This extended my links about 4" so made a removeable extension for the Top link mount. Then I got a easy PTO connect which added about 4" to the PTO shaft. And lastly I considered removing the PTO shield but reconsidered~ I removed the shield and welded a bit of 1/4" round stock on the bottom edge below the bolts where the shield contacts the tractor. This kicked the shield up about 2 inches.
So I still have the safety shield but it is raised up for easier access. This is the PTO quick coupler I got from Amazon.

It wasn't cheap but it saves my old back so I don't regret the $ spent. I do wish the spacer tool used to attach was metal, not plastic.

Reviving this old thread, as it appears this may have been the last discussion on the forum, that had some good input and conversation.
From what I gather about the details provided by the OP, I have a similar situation which is very frustrating to go through, when taking the brush cutter off / on the tractor.

My MX5200, has the big honking Quick Hitch with all the vertical / horizontal bars the prohibit easy reaching access to the PTO connection; then also, the fact that that hinged PTO safety cover is in the way too.
Getting arms and hands in there, to get the PTO disconnected from the brush cutter, is not much of a big deal. Getting arms and hands in there, to manipulate, hold up the shaft, and yank the shaft, squeeze the collar, line up the splines, etc, is a complete PITA...

The bungee idea sounds very promising, but I've not tried that yet; and won't be able to get my hands on things for a couple weeks out to see if it is actually helpful for this situation.

As there's been two years passed since this conversation occurred, am interested to hear of any further input which could be shared. Am basically regretting that I didn't buy this PTO Link setup several years ago, as it appears to have gone up in price a lot, since I first had heard about it...

One other gotcha issue that would be worth getting input, is about rocks... I've cleaned up about 95% of the rocks around my land (and there were some big ones), but I suspect that these PTO Link units are not really engineered for banging into rocks with the cutter, and could just end up causing damage to the plates and the little holes/pins that make the quick attach so functional.
Any thoughts about that?
