I currently have no impliments that require the rear or mid PTO's I have on my tractor. Should they be run from time to time? Make any differance? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Yep, just to work the seals and clutch if nothing else.
Otherwise you might find them not working oneday when you do decide to use them, or sell the tractor.

Yeah I wpuld think that would be a good idea. Last year our 970 started leaking from the MFWD seal in the front cause we never use the front wheel drive. Finally got it fixed a month ago.

yep1 once or teice a year run them for a few min. keeps everythin lubed and keeps the seals from taking a set. at least this is what i think.

Probably a good idea to run it now and then. When i bought my NH 1920, I didn't figure I would need the 4wd option as I only mowed.. when the dealer heard me say that he said.. 'put it in 4wd and drive it a few feet forward and reverse every couple months to keep the top of the gears from getting surface rust from moisture.. etc"

Yeah, it is the same theory as running the air conditioner in your car at least once a month, even during the winter. Keeps the seals lubricated so they don't fail when they do finally get used. A few minutes is probably all you need...
