I'm trying to decide on some sort of sprayer to pull behind my 1401d. I need to spray some row crops with a mixture that includes fish emulsion and was wondering whether I should go with a 12v sprayer or a pto pump...homemade sprayer. Anyone know the pros and cons of pto pumps and/or how to attach them to a YM?
Thanks!!

Tony- I'm not familiar with PTO pumps. What are the pressure and flow requirements of your sprayer? BTW, how's that 1401D treating you? Mine has been pretty much flawless, other than I need to replace the 3-point cylinder seals. I have run it 250 hours, much of it in commercial use in my landscaping business and it has never missed a beat. I'm thinking about "trading up" to a powershift model, though.... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hosejockey,
Thanks for the reply....I'm ending my search for info on PTO pumps though because I found a good deal on a 12v sprayer this weekend! About my 1401d, it's been great so far--I use it about 2 hours or more a week. I am going to have to check into a charging problem though--and I have just found some grease oozing from the steering column...hope that's not really bad news.
I'd asked about the PTO pump partly because my uncle has a really old one he used to pump water from his pond and wondered how one might work attached to a sprayer.
Thanks again...let me know how the "upgrade" to a bigger tractor goes.

Tony
