Just noticed when I engage the PTO on my Kubota L3200 HST I get a loud rattling noise that seams to be coming from below between my feet. I unhook the PTO shaft from the sicklebar but the noise is still happening although a bit less. I have check the oil, and hydraulic fluid and all seems good although the oil looks very black (need to change soon). Any thoughts to what to check in before taking the tractor in for service? If I do not engage the PTO, all sounds good and things like the FEL work great.

Not sure. All I know is that I move the PTO lever to on position then release the clutch slowly with rpms low and it engages. When I move the PTO lever to off position or depress the clutch it disengages the PTO although it takes a minute or so to fully stop spinning.

Was thinking (W.A.G.) maybe if it had one, it's not fully releasing.
Does the tractor's pto shaft feel ok? No loose bearings?

Does the noise (rattle) change pitch with the rpms?
Or is it more random?

All seems tight and nothing loose. When I increase the rpms, the sound gets softer for sure.

Check the adjustment on the PTO engage cable...
