PTO issue U5030

Dealer mechanic came by today with 3 parts to change out. None of them worked. Relay behind the steering column, small screen in the box behind the left wheel, and the solenoid valve (I think) in that same box.
He's baffled. Still thinks it's electrical, but isn't sure. He says the next step is to get the regional tech rep to look at it.

Well, the good news is they are working on it! Hopefully they'll get it fixed for you soon .

They will find the problem, it might take a while but they will find it. I know taking a while isn't on your addenda but it sure is interesting to us (or at least to me) to see just what it is. You watch it will probably be something really stupid and simple, like always seems to be the way it goes!

In the last week, my dealer has been in touch with just about everybody in North America who knows these tractors. Consensus is that the timer is bad. I guess there is some sort of a timer in that group that shuts it down for some reason. He said they'll also check the hydro oil pressure on those plates when they come up Friday to replace the timer, but doesn't think that's the problem.

I'm happy to report the PTO issue is fixed. It ended up being a small actuator that's under the transmission. Some kind of pressure-sensing unit. Anyways, it was missing the rod that slides inside it.
Now I'm back to loving my new tractor.

Glad it's fixed and wasn't too painful. I think it's encouraging when a dealer, and manufacturer, are aggressive in solving problems. Still, this sort of weird stuff is why I like to have backups for almost everything...one tractor can't be enough
