PTO HP for Flail Mower

I am interested in a flail mower to be used to cut grass around my house and pond. Most of the time the grass will go 2 weeks before cutting, sometimes more. I am guessing about 5 acres all told.

I like the 6' Caroni but it requires 30-60 PTO HP and the L3000DT has only 27HP. Will my tractor run this mower sufficently or should I just get a 5' mower and be done with it?

Afternoon Marty,
Your probablly going to be fine with that tractor and mower combo. At the very least you may have to slow down a bit in the real heavy stuff, but it shouldnt be a show stopper ! I dont personally have any real time experience with that combo but it doesnt look to be a problem to me. Some of the other guys may have more specific experience with that equipment !

Thanks for the input Scott. My other choice is that Land Pride makes a 6' for 25-55 PTO HP, which isin my HP range but more $.

I am planning on buying the Caroni TM1900B Flail mower to use behind my L3130 with about the same spec HP. I really don't expect any problems utilizing the mower. I understand that it will be a couple more weeks before the unit is available and the hydraulic shift kits won't be available till later in August.
