Gordon,
You have expressed interest in testing new proto-types of
tiltmeters in the past. Well, I have a proto-type of new
mounting bracket that I have tested, but it is ready for
consumer testing. Of course, I will include a model #25c
to use with the bracket. The new bracket uses the double
sided tape only, and requires no hole drilling. I do not
expect it to work where brush and limbs hit it, but should
work well in most cases. I DO NOT ENDORSE USING A MAGNET
FOR MOUNTING, but for a temporary mount, a magnet will not
affect the ball. Soon, I am going to a stainless steel ball
for all models anyway. (non-magnetic). I should have 2-3 samples
for testing soon. Keep in mind, they are proto-types I made
from a bracket I found that was for a different purpose, and
modified it for my use. They are steel, but if they are well
liked, I will make a mold and make them out of a graphite
material that is EXTREMELY tough, but light. The proto-type
allows the indicator to be adjusted at any angle, allowing
mounting on instrument panel, hood, etc. without holes.
The foot print of mount is about 1" tall, and 2" wide.
