What size does it have factory? My guess is the tires on it are in the 31" range.

33 and 35's are just not that big to today's standards. I bet your Eco Boost has the same size as mine which works out to about 32" tires.

275/65-18 tires which are 32.07 inches in diameter according to a calculator.

Dakota Digital makes (or used to make) one, you tell it that x pulses in should equal y pulses out and it "corrects" the speed.
Pricewise it might make sense to see if the size you chose matches a stock tire size. If so, the dealer might be able to reflash the ECU to match the new tires (see: http://www.f150forum.com/f38/dealers-ids-tire-reflash-2011-a-135091/ for some info on the newer trucks)

Still have that 1930 Model A Pickup to this day... always drew a crowd down at the big box stores!

I'm in the slightly lowered and NASCAR look camp. HE want's different, right? I'm willing to bet all his buds have lifted trucks, he will just be another one of the guys with it lifted. Can't change physics, higher COG. Lifted is less safe than not lifted, no matter how well done on stock suspension geometry.

Give him time. My brother was in a similar but less damaging accident and it has affected his driving for many years. He was 12 and now 33, and he just began driving in town and taking left hand turns.

Spoil him. He needs it and I bet you do too.

Can tell from experience putting 35's on there will look nice, but it'll be a dog... You'll really notice on hills, and acceleration(towing too). Been that age, did this kinda truck build

What motor/tranny does that truck have?

Thanks for your input. This truck will not see much off road action. Hopefully none. We have motorcycles for that. This will be a road queen. He understands the lower torque he will be getting. From a dad's perspective that is fine with me. I thought with the 3.73's we should be fine with up to a 35 inch tire so I would like to hear others opions as well. If churning thick mud I can understand but for a payment pounder....?

I used your calculator backwards and with 35 inch tires, his new ratio is 3.42 and 3.63 with 33's.

I know they make an inline mph converter for the F250s and will have to check on the F150s. You just clip a wire or two and put it inline under the dash.

There you go. The 33" tires you are thinking of getting are small for a truck with a lift.

A dog will keep him out of trouble. It has the 5.4 liter , 4 speed trans, with 3.73 gears. Most he will tow would be a motorcycle trailer or he hopes a jet ski one day. Got my Ecoboost to tow the bigger trailers.

The doctors first said six months to drive and nobody expected him to progress as quickly as he has. Very blessed and he isn't one to sit still and is a fighter.
