...we'll make it all forums default no matter where you come from...

That would appear to be the most logical and consistent way to do it... It would have been more confusing changing "defaults" on the fly...

{then they couldn't be considered "defaults"...would they...?}/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Knowing me I screw something up.
If I reply to a post on the 12 hour, than return to the 12 hour it doesn't update the new post, than I have to check the 6 hour post for updates.

Any ideas??
Thanks.

Click refresh. Or hit F5 on your keyboard ... on the 12 hour page. You just need to reload it. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Just one teeny weeny item... adding a Compact Tractor Pix Logo to TBN Logo on the home page...

And how did you happen to pick a 2wd tricycle utility style for your "compact" book...? /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif

And here I was thinking everyone was familiar with the tractor road sign. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

I was just logged out without me doing it. I noticed all the (new) was gone and thought to go to who's on line to check for me. I wasn't there. Logged back on and that worked. Do you know what happened?

Can't really exaplin that one, but that it happens once in a long while for some people... myself included. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Muhammed,
The new format doesn't seem to remember the posts I have read. I do not ever log out. When I return to catch up sometimes I use 12 hr, sometimes 1 hr, etc. However, the posts I have read are not "greyed out". Is this the design intent? If so, could I plead the case to have it restored so that any post you have read is marked no matter how you enter the discussion.
Thanks.

Muhammad,

Don't know how hard it is to do JackIL's request but I'll second the motion. If it's too much then I'll just revert to using one view only (which limits the power of all the great new features).

The site looks great, keep up the good work!

It was a first for me. Thought something was wrong. I guess it was just my turn in the barrel.

Muhammad,

Not sure how challenging this is or if indeed this already works and I'm doing something wrong /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif...

I generally read via the "Last hour" etc listing. When I read a note and reply to it, I'm returned to the forum topic list where the thread resides, not the "Last Hour" listing. For example, if I read a note and reply I end up looking at the "Off Topic & Just For Fun" page instead of back at the list I was at.

Am I missing a setup parameter somewhere?

Thanks for the great site and I love the enhancements!!!

No, that's working as it should ... since technically the recent message pages are searches, it's not going to return there as if it were a forum.

Kevin -

Not sure if this will help or not, but I use the Past xxx Hours, too, and what I do is to open each message in a new window (a right click option for Windows, click-and-hold for Mac). Read that message, go to flat mode, reply, etc. in that new window. When you want to go back to the main message list, just close the new window and you're right back where you were.

One drawback is that the messages you open that way won't show as "visited" until you refresh the list. Good chance to tone up your memory muscles.

Hey Harv,

That is exaclty how I do it... I do wish there was an option to go directly into flat mode... But, what the hay...

Me too, Bill, but I'm so thankful for what we've got now, I'm not about to ask for any more.

Thanks for the idea Harv. I'll try it that way for a while and see how I find it.
