Problems with 2520?

Ok. Trying to understand this problem with something rubbing on the rear tires. Hard to believe they put out a product knowingly that has issues. And I'm being told to put tires in wide stance? Any and all info appreciated. !!

The clear reasons to have the rear tires set to the wide stance are:

- Greater stability when using the FEL, especially with the bucket raised.

- Avoiding interference with the MMM lift linkage, or with the 3PH lift arms.

The older 2520's (before 2009) had 3PH lift arms that had the potential to make contact with the tires. The newer arm design prevents this. However, I can say from personal experience that the linkage for the MMM lift can cut groves in the sidewalls of the tires if they are set in the narrow position.

I don't know of any down side to having them set wide, other than having the valve stems on the inside where they are somewhat harder to access. I don't understand why dealers deliver them set in the narrow stance.

Might be a shipping consideration. Take up less deck space per tractor.

The tires are tubeless, why doesn't JD put two value stems in the tire, one on the inside and one of the outside? That would be awesome, it is nearly impossible to get to the inside value stem if you have a backhoe mounted.

Hi,

Do a search for my post on the 3pt arms. It has a lot of information on the issue as well as how you might be able to get them replaced if you have the older style.
