Hello again all, I recently purchased a brand new Farm Pro 8040 (80 hp, cab, all the goodies) and it seems as though my three point (now that I need it) will not work. I have done all I know how which is pretty extensive, I have added some fluid, it was a hair low, I have played with the adjustment valve, and now I am out of options. Does anyone have an idea as to what could be going on? I have the dealer calling Farm Pro direct to see if they can help, but we all know how people tend to d e l a y sometimes!

Thanks

I guess what you are saying is that it will not lift correct ??

Could you let us know a little history of the tractor and what you have done to it so far ?

Did the problem start all at once ? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

yes, it will not lift, I have added fluid (it was a hair low), and I have done all I know how. The problem started all at once yes, I have not used it since I bought it (a few weeks) and now that I need to attach my box scraper, it will not work.

Do the rest of the hydraulics on the tractor work ? (FEL , Power steering ) ?

motor1,
we do want to help but we need those questions answered. Also does this system have one or two hydraulic pumps ? Does it try to lift? make any noises when lever is moved?

in terms of the rest of the hyd. working, yes, they do, the 3 point tries to work, it will lift maybe an inch in 20 minutes, I have a Koyker 310 loader on it that the dealer installed, and that works just fine, so... seems to make no different noise when trying to lift, it just doesn't do it! As far as the pumps, I am not sure as to how many it has, it is just wierd to me that everything else works just fine including the loader but the 3 point will not!!??

Check carefully all "quick connect" fittings for th eloader installation. a partial or poor connection here can obstruct flow. How many hoses do you have to your joystick on the loader? Is there one coming out of the top of the valve? If so you have a power beyond type install. be sure this hose leads to the pressure side of lift box, this might be fun on a cab tractor... You can try raising the lift while lower the loader at the same time and see what happens...

I have a "slow" 3 pt lift in cold weather, what I do to make it raise right away is raise the loader up 3/4 place the 3pt lift in raise position then lower the loader. My 3pt lifts as the loader drops.

If you look back at previous posts you will see that I had a similar problem. The 3p would not pick up and the loader worked fine. The solution for me was the hydraulic fluid was too thick in the cold and the 3P took forever to lift even though the FEL worked what appeared to be normal. As the fluid warmed up the 3P would start to work again I am switching the hydraulic fluid to AW32 and solving the problem that way. I believe that you have the same problem.

PS … Try holding the control level on the 3P to the raise position for a very long time (4 Minutes minimum) and see if it works it's way all the way up. I bet that it will.

It has one hydraulic pump for the lift system and one for the power steering. Remove and check the hydraulic filter look for tape type or gasket sealant and metal shavings it doesnt take much to stop a valve. Sounds like an obstruction or linkage disconnected. I would go with obstruction. Since its under warranty let Farm Pro fix it. On older stuff we would drain the oil clean the filters and run diesel thru the system to clean the obstruction. If that didnt work take it apart. Since it is new it may be from the assembly process. I have a Tractor King 70 hp and have found final assembly and quality checks are lacking on the tractor. Rural king is correcting the assembly issues
