Problem with bx72r chipper

I’m having trouble with my BX72R wood chipper. The hydraulic feed roller will run full speed in reverse, but it will not move at all in the forward/feed direction.

So far, I have:

• Removed all pressure from the roller.
• Checked the check valve on the return line.
• Removed one of the hydraulic motors to see whether it would spin when I engaged the roller The result was the same with the motor removed as it was when the motor was installed on the machine.

What could cause this kind of issue, where reverse works normally but forward does not work at all?

What should my next troubleshooting steps be? I’m trying to determine whether this is likely a valve/control issue, a check valve or relief issue, a hydraulic motor issue, or something mechanical in the feed roller system.

Does it have a valve/adjustment to slow the feed rate? If so, make sure it’s not closed all the way.
