Ok so I applied the 545 to cleaned up fittings.the bottle said cures in 24 hours so I'm going to wait.in my above pic I notice my leaks are from the 3/4 inch adapter the threaded all the way in .The other type that didn't thread all the way in did not leak.both npt.should I have used something different.could I have added an o ring where it did go all the way in.mabey it won't leak with the 545 we will see.
What he said. It's not supposed to bottom out on the shoulder of the valve, it seals on the taper of the fitting as well as the taper of the port on the valve, 3/4" per foot. Get a good hydraulic 3/4 x 1/2" hydraulic reducing bushing and turf the black iron crap.Black iron fittings like that have very low tolerances and probably not threaded correctly and that is why they went to deep.
