Ok so I applied the 545 to cleaned up fittings.the bottle said cures in 24 hours so I'm going to wait.in my above pic I notice my leaks are from the 3/4 inch adapter the threaded all the way in .The other type that didn't thread all the way in did not leak.both npt.should I have used something different.could I have added an o ring where it did go all the way in.mabey it won't leak with the 545 we will see.

Unless you have a proper seat for the o ring it will tear itself up when you tighten it down. The 545 should take care of it. I have used it in the past to stop some heavy leaks and it worked fine

Waited 24 hrs two fittings didn't seem to leak third had a steady stream comi g out.this is really frustrating!!so I cleaned it up and did it again we will see in 24 hours.what I might of done ,was the valve had oil full to top when I wound the fitting in.it might of washed the 545 off??? This time I took a rag and soaked up a bunch ,before I put the fitting in
Frustrating very frustrating!!!!

Are all the fittings High pressure or black iron (especially the straight nipple?) Looks like your reducers might be black iron would definitely change them out with high pressure reducers. Black iron fittings like that have very low tolerances and probably not threaded correctly and that is why they went to deep. would order up some correct ones from here 5406 | Hex Reducer Pipe Bushing

What he said. It's not supposed to bottom out on the shoulder of the valve, it seals on the taper of the fitting as well as the taper of the port on the valve, 3/4" per foot. Get a good hydraulic 3/4 x 1/2" hydraulic reducing bushing and turf the black iron crap.
Looking back at the pics, you can see where the fitting is bottomed out in the valve port, as well as the 1/2" nipple is deep into the bushing as well, why I didn't pick up on that initially, dunno........Mike
