Quick Hitches Priefert

Does anyone have experience with the Priefert quick hitch?

Also, what are you getting in a $300-$400 quick hitch versus the TSC/northern tool/speeco type <$100 quick hitch???

$200 - $300 peace of mind? The Chinese HF is not a beautifully built item, but it looks like it should hold together. I bought one on sale as the beginning of a log skidder project to replace my boom pole.

I suspect if you tested the Priefert against the HF in a side by side test you'd find differences in weight, steel and weld quality, dimensional uniformity and ultimate capacity - but I'm just going with my gutt on that. So far I haven't heard anyone say that their HF unit has broken or malfunctioned, so that's a little bit encouraging.

I have to admit to a bias against Chinese stuff in general. I make exception to that bias on a case by case basis. Some of their stuff is really quite good, but some of it is rubbish.
