Today I was talking with my local NH salesman about trade-in values versus new tractors. He said that until fairly recently a used low-hour tractor would sell for 10-15% less that the same new one. Now, the discount is about 30%. The reason is that one can buy a new tractor at 0% and the monthly payments are not significantly higher than that for a used one. He also said that NH dealers in this area are trading current inventory to get tractors that buyers want, rather than buying new production from NH. The reason is that NH pricing is going up significantly. He used the example of a 45 HP Boomer, saying that the price of that would be going up more than $3000.

What it is that NH has certain programs that have tractors that are invoiced before certain dates have higher discounts, so dealers will try and transfer tractors sometimes instead of having a higher priced new tractor than a dealer down the road.
