I am working on an order for the 6500 4wd with the 264 loader and I wanted the quick attach option. The dealer quoted me $4500 for this option. That seems like a lot for the small amount of parts involved. Does anyone have this, and if so, what did it cost you at the time?

Thanks!

Tim,

Franzen's can have them made in Miles for about $300.00. They are very good, I have one and love it over the factory made one. You might want to call them as I believe they might have made a mistake. You are welcome to come look at mine and see what you think of it. It is simple and works great! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Right, they did mention that they could make that attachment. I was thinking of something that would be skid steer compatible like the quick attach option on the mahindrausa website. I did confirm the price with them for the $4500 since I was so shocked by it at first. I thought this would be a good thing to do when buying so I wouldn't have a non quick attach bucket laying around. I wanted to be able to allow for a grapple or other skid attachments for the FEL.

I still think that sounds high, but I am also looking into the aftermarket quick attach systems to see what they are going for, like the Tach-All.

Might just have to wait till I need it. I don't want to do a custom job that would rule out skid attachments in the future.

Tim, the prices that you were quoted was on the whole set up...That was the loader not just the Quick tach.
When you price with Mahindra...They have a price for a standard pin loader. Then they have a price for a loader with the quick attach.
So if you ask the for the price on the standard pin loader you will see that it will little cheaper.

Thanks for the info. That was what I was thinking the difference would have to be. I think I will contact them again to get the difference between the regular loader and the quick attach loader.

Got the confirmation back from the dealer. It was $300 for the quick attach upgrade from mahindra. Yeah!!! The $4500 was for the whole loader with the quick attach. $300 for a whole slew of other attachment capability, I'd say it's a bargain!

I think I have everything figured out. Here is what I am shooting for:

6500 4WD
264/5 loader with skid steer quick attach
511 backhoe with 24" bucket

Should be sweet. Waiting till last minute to see what March financing offers are going to be.

BTW: why does the mahindra site have a 264 loader and the actual loaders at the dealer say 265?

The loader you will be getting will be th ML265 loader. The ML264 loader has been phased out and replaced with the 265. The skid steer attachements were available for the 264, but were never sold as a package.

Just got the confirmation from the dealer. The 265 was ordered complete with the quick attach included. I wanted to do it this way so I didn't have a regular bolt-on bucket laying around (and $$$). Seems like they ordered it as one item okay.

Thanks for the update on the loader model question. Now I play the painful waiting game. That's okay, it gives me time to look around and see what all projects I have to schedule when it arrives. It's going to be one busy tractor!

Congrats Tim, Learned today that ml264 loaders were built primarily by great bend, ml265 built by kmw. It is redesigned, suposed to be many improvements over the older loader.

Did you get the backhoe also? I have the 511 w/ 6000. Great set up, but if you are good, you will want some more gpm. My loader was made by Great Bend. My take on the KMW was that it was not made quite as well, but both are nice. You will be happy with your purchase. Loader, backhoe and all that power and weight is an impressive piece of equipment. Good luck and be careful!

One more thing, if you got the backhoe, think about a 12" bucket. I have a 12" and 24" but rarely use the 24". For trenching, drains, pipe, etc., no sense in digging up more than needed, and also, if you are back filling with gravel, takes 1/2 as much to fill ditch.

I got the 511 with the 24" bucket to start. The bradco factory is a 20 minute drive from my house so if I decide I need the 12" I'll just swing up there and get it /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif. I am sure it will take me a bit to get proficient with the backhoe, so I think the on board 11GMP will be enough for the near future. Although I did see a used pto pump in the local farm paper that I was thinking of getting just in case. It was for a cultivator or some other type of equipment but as long as the GPM checked out it might be a bargain. I got the 24" bucket initially since I will be laying trenches 5-6 ft down and I wanted plenty of space to work in. I see your point about the 12", and I am sure I will pick that up later. Maybe steel will go down by then, but I highly doubt it. I sure will be careful, that is part of the reason for buying the new tractor. I am on a IH 400 tricycle now on the hills. Can't wait for wet disc brakes and a wide front, ROPS, etc. All pluses. I like knowing that mahindra has roots with IH. Kinda prolongs the nostalgia.

When I bought my 6500 with 265 loader I was not looking for QA bucket. DO NOT TRY TO TAKE IT AWAY.
