The collective knowledge of everyone on this list is invaluable. Sad to be retiring my tired IH 454.
I'm now looking at a 4600, having looked at Blue and Orange also. Must say that the other colors are great, but because of a number of posts, I went to a dealer and drove one today.
There's a 4600 (last year's model) available with FEL, hydro, FWD, and R4's for $23K. Is this a good price?

No....I think you could do better considering the 4x00 series tractors were phased out 12-18 months ago. I'm surprised you are finding one on a dealer's lot. I paid about $22,700 for my 4710 with the same options you cite (except R1s replacing the R4s) plus a few extra goodies thrown in.
