What is a good price to pay for a 2910 with a front loader and bush hog. My dealer said he can sell them at list price all day but would give it to me for $1000 off. What are other people paying for the 2910?

Is this dealer a close personal friend of yours? If not, what is so special about you that he will give you $1,000 off when he can sell them at list price all day? I would question the honesty/reputation of the person you are dealing with. The dealer you buy from will generally be the one you deal with for the next how many years? Good Luck, JimBinMI

From everthing that I have gathered in my limited experience with tractors, most dealers markup for list price is 20-25%. They have out of pocket cost for shipping, assembly and other miscellaneous items, but I think if you work back from the list price by 20% you should be in the ballpark for a good deal. Randy, I checked my receipts for tractor/loader, mower deck, and backhoe purchased separately over 6 month period 1999. Discounts off list were 16% tractor/loader, 20% mower deck, and 31% backhoe. All from same dealer.... more haggling as I frequented this board. Hope this helps.

I just was quoted 24,000 with backhoe and loader. To me this seems more than fair.

I just paid $17,000 for a B2910 with loader. And the dealer is throwing in a Kubota pedal tractor for my 2 1/2 year old!
Both boys get new toys!

I just paid $18,000 for a B2910 w/ FEL and 60" mid-mount mower.

I was just recently quoted $17,450 for the B2710 and $5995 for the Woods 7500 backhoe. I live in NH so there is no sales tax. However, this is high when compared to bsauter's quoted price of $17,000. I'll surely refer to his number in my next discussion.

I'm also in New Hampshire and would be interested in talking more about local dealers and prices. From my experience, New Hampshire dealers in all colors are priced quite a bit higher than elsewhere in the country.

Chappel's is high all the time from what I can see. No deals there, but a great candy store for browsing, and they are close by to wherre I live.

In the past, I've shopped around and pricing is about the same from other dealers, with chappel always 5-10% higher than the rest. I think it's because their focus is more on big iron, big bucks equipment and it doesn't pay them to bargan.

I agree that NH seems to be high cost. I was surprized to hear of someone getting a B2910 with FEL and mower for $17,000! I've been quoted $18,000 +- a few hundred for the B2910 and FEL alone, no mower. If I could get it for $16,000 (B2910 + FEL), I'd buy it, but not for $18,000

Oops, I take it back. Someone paid $17,000 for a 2910 + FEL (no mower). Still $1000 less than here in NH

Take a short drive up to Essex Junction, Vermont. Essex Equipment will sell you a B20910 with FEL for around $16,000

That sounds worth checking out. I'm really probably looking at a L3010+FEL but a dealer I went to quoted it at 19500 and the 2710+FEL at 16800, with the 2910 being about $1000 more. Thanks alot for the information. I'm making a trip to Ryan Ford in Tilton (New Holland and Kubota) and Hawkensen in Plymouth (JD and Kubota) this morning so see what I can find out from them. Maybe I can make it to Essex Junction by noon! Probably not this weekend. Do you happen to know their hours?

In July, I paid $17,000
even for a 2910, FEL, and
Woods five foot box
scrape. Dealer is thirty
minutes from me and he is
located in Pageland, SC. As I bought across state lines I didn't have to pay tax either. I'm still thinking it was a pretty good deal.

If you are really interested in Essex Equipment in Essex Junction, Vt. ask for Gary. Their number is (802) 878-5316. He's the owner and does the dealing. He's a real nice guy and has a nice clean professional looking operation. The service folks are also very helpful. By the way, I have visited the dealership often prior to buying and I never saw a newer Kubota in the shop. The service folks say they have never had any problems with the newer machines. Goood Luck
