That drop damper valve has nothing to do with his lift not staying up, but could be used as a check to see if its the level control valve leaking or the lift cyl.Every tractor I own has a levered valve near the seat that determines how slow a implement drops when the hydraulic lever is moved forward. Check if your unit has such a lever to see if it has accidentally been moved a bit.
