Greetings all,
I have an opportunity to purchase a 1301D with loader for a reasonable amount. My concern is whether this machine has enough power to meet my needs. We have 50 acres on a hillside. We would use the tractor for bush hogging just portions of this land, use the loader for moving light materials or minimal amounts, do a bit of landscaping with a back blade and box...

My hope is to keep metal to a minimum to make ends meet but don't want a machine which can't do the above. This is would be our first tractor.

Any responses welcome.
thanks, kelly

My personal opinion is that it is too small to work any where near 50 acres. Bush hogging is where it will start to wilt, especially if there is very much brush. Just cutting pasture it may do alright, even though, it would take some more time than a larger tractor/hog.

I think youhave to decide if the tractor is large enough for your needs. In my opinion it is like cubic inches , you can never have enough . I have 20 acres & have a 3110D. If you let the grass get too high or too thick you will have a hard time using a bush hog with that small tractor
