I think the concept would work on my riding lawn mower. That way the blower intake wouldn't grab my pants leg.

No I made it/converted it from a Steiner ransomes blower. It used same hydraulic motor that痴 on power Trac mower deck.

Personally, I've used a number of hand held blowers over the years and the Stihl BG86 has been the best. I'm currently using the BLACK+DECKER LSW221 20V MAX which I love because it is a lot lighter than the Stihl, but the Stihl is definitely a bit more powerful. I have a backpack blower so can afford to have a slightly less powerful hand held here, but if only having a hand held then I think i'd have to recommend the Stihl. All the best.

I'd be tempted to get a corded blowers, as i'd only be using it around the house. Lots of power and pretty inexpensive.

I have a corded blower for my garage and right around the house. Works great and very powerful. Only limitation is the cord length.
I just used a corded blower at my mother-in-law's house the other evening. Took dinner over there for her. Her car was at the repair shop, so the garage was empty and I noticed it was full of leaves. I recalled they had one in their shed, so I got it out, found a cord, and blew it out pronto. She didn't know she had it. So I left it in the garage for her. Beats a broom!

I would love to build a PT leaf vacuum / shredder.
I use a hand held electric one and use the shredded leafs in the garden as compost topper.
But a PT leaf vacuum / shredder would be amazing.

I do a mix. I put a small generator in my big bucket, and add 100' extension cord and a leaf blower and drive to my leaf problem. Then I blow leaves until the end of the cord, drive the PT ~200', and begin again. The tractor mounted blowers are certainly way cooler and way less effort. (In my opinion.)
