I would like to see some ideas and proven mods. that would increase the power of my little diesel in my 2005 3647. This has been a good little tractor, but as the warranty has long since expired, i am interested in bumping the power up on this little unit. I think it would be a lot of fun to have this size tractor putting out power in the 60-70 hp range. Is this feasible? Is it even achievable? I may have to be content with just running a straight exhaust and turning up the fuel pump just a bit. This little engine is supposed to be bullet proof so lets see what we can make it do!! Let the ideas roll boys!:D

Don't have any personal experience with that engine but assuming it isn't already turbo charged, that is the first thing I would consider other than maybe turning up the pump. A turbo would very likely be the most reliable means of making a substantial increase in power. There are a number of turbos out there that may be appropriately sized. I have read about guys using motorcycle and automotive turbos on their tractors, so you aren't necessarily limited to using a unit from an agricultural application.

While all manufacturers typically "overengineer" when it comes to how much "power" their components can take, I'd be careful. I'd hate to see you ruin a perfectly good tractor in your quest for more power...

All that "extra" HP could raise havoc with transmissions, transaxles, etc...

I agree. The 5530 Branson is 55HP and it uses the same A2300 but with a little turbo. Of course the typical warnings....blah, blah....but let us know how it works!
