My diesel B3200 HST has developed a problem this year while mowing. After it heats up, it will suddenly lose power, RPMs drop down, and it almost stalls out. If I let off the accelerator, the engine eventually picks up speed again, and a puff of white/blue? smoke comes out of the exhaust. Any ideas what the problem might be before I take it into the dealer?

Could be a fuel supply issue.??
Look in the tank to see any floaters..
Price out a supply/lift pump..
& if it’s reasonable, replace it..

Engine temperature gauge is in normal range, about 1/4 to 1/3.

Black smoke is unburnt fuel and your not getting that so becids some computer controlled engine derating issue you prob have a fuel problem.
