John Deere 855
I have a John Deere 855. Instead of buying the Deere power beyond kit, I was thinking of just getting the diverter valve and plumbing the rest myself.

My question is...could I just take two lines right to a fender mounted valve and put quick connects on the valve?

Here is a link to the install of the deere kit with good pictures.

Thanks

Yes, you only need to purchase the "plug"-the little set screw thing from JD, all the rest can be sourced locally or online. Lot's of guys have done this same thing...

Thanks. I have an extra 2 spool valve here at the house. Is there an easy way to tell if it is open center? Or does it matter.

Oh yes, it DOES matter! You must have a OC valve. Air pressure is a good easy way to tell-hooks 100lbs of air to the IN or P port and see if it blows freely out of the OUT or T port while in neutral. Got a picture of part number of the valve?
