Posts marked read

I notice that sometimes I will go to a forum that has say 25 unread posts. I may read 10 of them, then come back the next day & the other 15 posts are marked read too. Why would that be? Many times I will click on a post & find it takes me halfway down the post even tho I didn't read any of the previous posts.

I just noticed that if I don't click out of TBN the unread posts work like they are supposed to. But if I click out of TBN & then come back they are marked read. I am not logging out of TBN.
