The Carbon Pile Battery Testers are expensive. Product Search - BatteryMart.com:. Sounds like the place you took the battery had an inexperienced person doing the testing of the battery.
Good that you got'er back like new. I've experienced new batteries that were defective immediately and have had others that had very short life. Have seen intermittently or marginally bad ones which sounds like what you had. These newer tractors with a lot of electronics can behave very differently than what we are used to with a marginally bad battery.
good to hear. but i could swear you said you put a new battery in it on an earlier post... but after re-reading it i see you said you CHARGED the battery... i thought you had stated you had CHANGED the battery. ...my bad
Just out of curiosity, how many hours? I went through a similar thing with my 4720 (no radio) when it had about 240 hours. Someone told me to pull all the fuses which I did and perhaps I was lucky but it has been okay since (over 600 hrs)-probably crap out tomorrow!
