It's java script. And shows up when reading threads if you are not logged in.
You can get the firefox "noscript" addon to stop it.

I should add, I find the bar at the bottom annoying and turn off notifications. Then I allow sites that I wish to run java script on which is easy enough by right-clicking the page and allow.

I recently switched from explorer to firefox and I no longer have a popup blocker button. This doesn't happen on any other sites.

Robert, look (in Firefox) under Tools>Options>Content and there is a box to check to block popups.

The popup only shows if you are not logged in. It has a cookie that limits it to show once per 999 days to avoid repeat popo-ups. If you do not accept cookies from tractorbynet.com, you will probably see the popup more often.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, my cookies are cleared every time I close the browser.

In that case, a script blocker like firefox's noscript would probably solve the problem as others have suggested.

Thanks rcrcomputing, no popup membership adds since I downloaded noscript. It's a neat program. It appears it's allowing me control of what's trying to get into my computer? computer.
NSBound, thanks for pointing out where my popup blocker is located. As you all can porbably tell I'm not very computer literate.

Your welcome and yes, it's primary goal is security. As an aside, I highly recommend "adblock plus" and "tab mix plus" for firefox.

The problem with blanket recommendations to block popups and/or scripts is you might visit sites where you want popups and/or scripts to run. For example, my credit union uses a popup to display check images.
