Here's the rear ballast I made a few year's ago. I had the wife watch for old weight lifting plates at garage sales. Cut the bar to length, cut the head off a draw pin and welded just the pin part to each end of the bar. I can add more weight if I want, a few hundred pounds and seems to be plenty for most things I do. It's very tight to the back of the tractor so I don't end up backing through a fence with it.
