I bought a used Kioti and took it to the Kioti Dealer in Ocala Florida and they treated me as well as if I had bought it from them. I sold it and bought a used Kubota and the Ocala Florida Kubota dealer couldnt be nicer than if I bought a brand new tractor from them. If someone treated me like you say they treated you, I would tell the owner and or never go back there.

How old is the hydro fluid in your tractor? Is it synthetic? If it's got a few years on it I would think about an oil change. If it's not synthetic (usually gear tractors are not) then I bet synthetic would help quite a bit.

This is exactly why your company is high on my list. I am currently in the market for a machine and the way my friends and associates have been treated is a big factor in who I may or may not do business with.

1. Where did we go wrong as a country when we stopped treating the customer walking in the door with the same reverence as the last couple of dollars in our pockets?
2. Walk into a Deere or Kubota dealer and you're lucky if they look up from the newspaper they're reading and grunt; "Yeah, what do you want?"
and give you a; "Can't you see I'm busy here?" , sneer
.

1. I agree, this tends to be very common whether you are going out to dinner or at the grocery store.
2. Categorically UNTRUE. My JD and Kubota dealers treat me like I own the place.

Wow, jumping from dealers running their business as they see fit, to blaming the country.

Walk into a Deere or Kubota dealer and you're lucky if they look up from the newspaper they're reading and grunt; "Yeah, what do you want?"
and give you a; "Can't you see I'm busy here?" , sneer
And condemning all Deere and Kubota dealers.

It's amazing how many of us have felt that sting of feeling like we're step children at the family reunion when we walk into dealerships these days.
I have not.

To state the obvious, discussion forums like TBN are where more people come to complain, than to praise, and to draw conclusions, like this attitude is common across all Deere and Kubota dealers or, worse yet, all businesses, is wrong.

But praising, even in posts that contain comments that poor customer service is very common but their local dealer is the exception, typically follows posts that contain gross generalizations and more than a dash of hyperbole, so, perhaps they inadvertently serve a purpose.

On the topic, the posters who have suggested synthetic fluid might be right on- I run synthetic engine oil, and that makes a great difference in cold starting my old tractor. I run expensive synthetic tranny oil in my 5 speed Subaru, and that makes a great difference it how it shifts when cold (and warm, for that matter- the synchros seem to like it!) so I would expect the same sort of results in a tractor. Conventional gear oil and hydraulic fluid is multi-grade for a reason. As for the dealers who don't want business, think of it as a fair warning that any experiences you have with them are likely to be unpleasant. Too bad, but some people have issues, and it sounds like these guys certainly do.

Long story short, I live in Hendersonville NC, but I bought my L3130 from another dealer in SC because the local dealer acted like he didn't care if I bought one from him or not and the SC dealer was $1000 cheaper. I've used the local dealer for over $1000 of broken parts (my fault, not the tractor) because he was close. The other day I mentioned my transmission wouldn't pull above 4th gear in cold weather until it warmed up. I was bluntly told not to bring it to them for repair. I pointed out that it wasn't a warranty job, it would be cash but they flatly said since I didn't buy it from them, they wouldn't work on it. Has anyone run into this kind of problem with a Kubota dealer? Who do I complain to? Second, what would cause this sort of transmission problem? It still pulls OK when warmed up. I like my tractor, but I am sorry I have done any business with my local dealership. I'm sure the SC dealer would have been happy to ship me anything I needed.
Had a Kubota dealer here in Jackson Mi. tell me if I bought my Kubota from out of town he would not warrenty or service it.Guess what I bought from another Kubota dealer in adrain Mi. about 30 miles from there dealership an saved about $2,000 bucks on my kubota 2006 RTV.Some dealers DON,T have a clue.
