I need some good advice on pond pumps. I need to install a pond pump to temporarily drain and later maintain water level in a pond about 100 ft in diameter. I also want to be able to use the pump to aerate the pond. If I could use the water to feed a sprinkler system it would be a plus but not a primary requirement. I have electricity reasonably close by and with some effort could provide 230V if it is of significant advantage over 115V. The pond is now very dirty and I do not know much about the filtering systems I should use to prevent damage to the pump and also make it clean enough to feed a sprinkler system.
The max lift I need is about 12-15 ft. and the distance to pump is about 200 ft.
Main questions are: What type/size pump? Brand names and models would be good info.
Size pipe? Type filter? Any pitfalls to avoid. Suggestions of any sort that you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

For continuous duty, you'll need a fountain pump. 230v is a plus I imagine, but I'd check on pump performance for the 15' lift. I don't know if you'll have enough flow/ pressure to operate many sprinklers, especially with friction loss incurred in 200'. Try a google on "Pond Boss"(pond site) and "pump calculator".
