That is on my list as soon as it cools down. Just got an LS with Hoe to tackle my 13 ac pond and the 4 little ones. Willows and river birch out of control. Will have to clear access to back side of one little pond to remove silt as well. Lots of seat time.

Nowhere does "nip it in the bud" ring more true than Willow trees around ponds. I use glyphosate in a garden sprayer to kill sprouts in spring and early Summer. Neglected, sprouts can grow to the size of fence posts in two seasons.
spraying adjacent to pond margin? do you consume the fish? just wondering, regards

After cutting them I have thou about using a sponge to apply Roundup on the cut ends to avoid getting it in the pond.

I got me one of those cordless hedge trimmers on a pole for trimming around the pond. I have to admit I am very impressed with its abilities. I already had the batteries and chargers from the weed trimmer and baby chainsaw.

Beavers ate all the trees growing around my pond. Now I rely on my 12ft batwing to get to the waters edge
