Thanks, re the "a lot of work" , yes for sure, ours is similar in size 26 x 34, I used 2x8 rafters and putting those up (over 60 of them) was a real PITA.

I bought a couple of safety harneses too while we were up doing the roof, better safe than sorry.

Looking nice Dave, I hope to start a new 36'x48' pole shed as soon as I finish my plans and pull the required permits. I also require a permit from the MTO . Thank goodness I am not in the Niagara Escarpment area. Where are your getting your steel from? I have been shopping around but have not yest decided. The 40'x60' shop I had build 8 years ago has Andex diamond rib and hi rib. This time I will build it myself.

Metal comes from an Amish guy local to me, very good prices - up near north bay

Why post down the middle instead of trusses?

I needed large supporting center posts any way given the strength i needed in a dividing wall (horses). So I went with Rafters and ridge beam on top of the Center posts. I also get a wack of added head room on each side which Id lose with trusses.

I like the nice big overhang on the gable end, keeps the rain off the siding. Did you hold down the last rafter and put the lookouts across it, or are they nailed to the face of the last rafter?
