Thinking about taking out a tree you planted or removing a dead one... think again. Can't do it without a permit unless it is a Eucalyptus.

I was on a business trip to Wash DC a month ago. The cab driver told me a similar story. You cannot remove a tree in his area of DC without a permit. Even if it is a likely to damage your home or another home.

My brother just drills a small hole at the base of a tree, inserts a small amount of his favorite tree killing chemical and then the City where he lives will allow the "dead/dying" tree to be removed with no hassle or debate or permit fees.

Around here, any tree larger than 4" usually has to have a permit to be removed too!

Local guy last week had a pole barm permit listed in the local paper (permits & transfers section) for $360,000... can't wait to see what that will look like.
