Tractor
Kioti CK30 HST
After quite some time comparing different models, price, HP, features, new vs. used etc. we chose a new Kioti.

We bought the CK30HST with a FEL from Smittys Equipment in Weatherford, TX (Memorial day week end). The sales transaction was smooth and all was as advertised. Virgil delivered the tractor and took me through a very complete review of the details of operation, maintenance etc.

I am very pleased with this purchase. This tractor has done everything I have asked so far (24 hrs and counting) without so much as a hiccup. The CK 30 fits like a glove and is very nimble (front and back operation loader etc.) Very short learning curve to operate. A well rounded tractor, weight, size, power etc.

Love the new tractor, Thanks to Virgil and the folks at Smittys Equipment. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yes, the brush guard is custom - it has a pin on the front to allow quick installation/removal. Smittys included it with the tractor. Just what I wanted. I had them add angle iron and 3 hooks to the bucket and a back light also.

Here is a pic of the front hooks. I have used them to remove about 70' of fence - very handy.

Here are a couple pics of the rear light - It is made by DaeDong and wired to turn off with when the key is off. Note that Smittys made the brackets. The bottom bracket has the nut welded to it.

Congratulations. That's an excellent brush guard and a great setup overall. One caution, be careful to protect the hydro filter beneath as it hangs rather low. Just be careful when working in stumps as it can break off the assembly. You may want to make some type of protective cage for it. Not really expensive to repair, but caution is the watchword.

Thanks for the info.
The angle iron is the width of the bucket, welded at each end and stich welded in the middle. The hooks are 5/16" welded to the angle iron. One hook is strong enough to handle all the loaders lifting force. I think the brush guard was a total creation.

You have duly inspired me. My CK30HST is being delivered this Saturday to my rec. property. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif My issues are the tractor will reside 108 miles from my shop where i have equipment to weld, fab, tinker, do wiring, etc. Most of my stuff is portable to an extent and I dont have a car trailer to transport tractor. I thought to fab the angle iron hook bar at the shop and possibly weld it with the wire feed at the property or drill and use grade 8 bolts. How big a pain does it look to remove bucket to put in a utility trailer?
What dimension angle iron did tractor shop use on your rig?
Hope I'm not too big a pain........ You have great taste in tractors!!

I just went out and measured the angle iron. It is 3" x 2" x 3/16" thick. The 3" side is on the top; 2" side is on the face. I looked at the under side and found that there is another piece of angle iron ~1/2" x ~1/2"? (under 3x2) x 1/16 welded to the radius of the loader hanging out enough to allow the top 2x3 angle iron something to be welded to. Regarding removing the bucket - I have never tried; The four pins look easy enough to remove as long as you can get the bucket in a "neutral" position. I think it would definitely be worth the effort. let me know how it goes. Regards, Rick

It's not hard to remove and replace. I would suggest you sit the bucket into/onto the trailer and then remove it so you have the heavy bucket in place, otherwise you'll probably need some help as the bucket is not light.
