Please help a new guy!

Hi Guys,
Please help me decide. I found a 2011 L3400 4x4 with 17 hours on it, 5" bush hog, loader, an 20 foot trailer used for $16,000.

I also am looking at a new L3800 with loader, bush hog, and 16" trailer for $21,086.

I have 10 acres and want to bush hog 6 and till up 2 for a garden. Whaich would you get?

p.s. both are gear driven and the seller of the used said something about a dual clutch.

The 34 is basically the same tractor as the 38. If all things are the same....I would get the 34. If it is hydro.

17 hours on a Kubota is NEW. I'd buy the used one, the twenty foot trailer is going to come in very handy for actually hauling the tractor with the brush hog on it. Just my two cents, but the 5 grand plus tax your going to save buys a really, really nice tiller, and a box blade, which every single tractor owner on planet earth needs :thumbsup:

I admittedly don't know anything about Kubotas, other than the famous orange paint, but $5000 can buy a lot of implements

If you are new to tractors, go to the dealer and try the 3800 in HST. If I had to choose one, it would be the 3400, but I personally won't buy a geared unit in that size.

Dual clutch probably refers to the two stage on a live PTO model.

A dual stage clutch on a mahindra means you let the clutch out halfway, and the pto starts spinning(if engaged) and then let it out the rest of the way, the tranny engages. Makes it really nice to start the mower and tiller turning before tractor starts moving.

L3800DT, FEL, 6'mower, box blade and trailer here is $19,950.

3 months ago I bought a L3800DT, Gear drive, FEL and 5' Land Pride mower, with 15 hours for 16K. I love the gear drive and am Very pleased with the tractor!

That said, if you, I'd get the 3400. That's a very good deal!
